چکیده

Making use of the well-known phase space reduction in the lowest Landau level(LLL), we show that the Laughlin wave function for the ν = 1 m case can be obtained exactly as a coherent state representation of an one dimensional (1D) wave function. The 1D system consists of m copies of free fermions associated with each of the N electrons, confined in a common harmonic well potential. Interestingly, the condition for this exact correspondence is found to incorporate Jain’s parton picture. We argue that, this correspondence between the free fermions and quantum Hall effect is due to the mapping of the 1D system under consideration, to the Gaussian unitary ensemble in the random matrix theory. e-mail addresses: ∗ [email protected], ∗∗ [email protected].

Laughlin Type Wave Function for Two–Dimensional Anyon Fields in a KMS–State

The correlation functions of two-dimensional anyon fields in a KMS-state are studied. The n-particle wave functions of noncanonical fermions of level ν, ν odd, are shown to be of Laughlin type of order ν. For the first noncanonical Fermi class (ν=3) this is simply the finite-temperature generalization of Laughlin wave function. This relates the first and second quantized pictures of the fractio...

Entanglement Properties of Some Fractional Quantum Hall Liquids

We study the entanglement properties of some fractional quantum Hall liquids. We calculate the entanglement of the Laughlin wave function and the wave functions that are generated by the K-matrix using the modified entanglement measure of indistinguishable fermions that is first proposed by Paškauskas and You[1].

Fractional Quantum Hall Effect States as Exact Ground States

We construct many particle Hamiltonians for which the Laughlin and Jain wavefunctions are exact ground states. The Hamiltonians involve fermions in a magnetic field and with inter-particle interactions. For the Laughlin wave-functions and unprojected Jain wave-functions, the interactions involve twoand three-body correlations similar to the Chern-Simons interactions, whereas for the projected J...

Energy spectra and photoluminescence of fractional quantum Hall systems containing a valence-band hole

The energy spectrum of a two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) interacting with a valence-band hole is studied in the high magnetic field limit as a function of the filling factor ν and the separation d between the electron and hole layers. For d smaller than the magnetic length λ, the hole binds one or more electrons to form neutral (X) or charged (X−) excitons. The low-lying states can be under...
